Originally, Kumbh used to occur once-in-12-years only at Haridwar in northern India. To the right of Ganga is the hill named Bilva atop which is situated the ancient temple of Mansa Devi, the wish fulfilling goddess. Both of the hills are serviced by ropeway gondola cable car.
